Tyler Wesson, Product Designer

About me

I design for regulated products. Fintech, insurtech, systems where trust has to be built in at the product’s core.

When things are ambiguous or unclear I don't wait around idle. I build momentum, backed by UX principles and competitive research, so there's a real reason behind the work before anyone opens Figma or an IDE.

I skip the typical design-to-dev handoff. I sit with engineers from day one, rally the team around a shared vision, test what's actually feasible, and resolve disagreements and constraints proactively.

Alignment early conserves capacity. Alignment late costs you in rework.

Former D1 diver at Berkeley, masters in HCI, career spent in startups and fast-moving product teams. Shows up in how I work: performance under pressure, structured thinking, bias toward delivering over polishing in a vacuum.

Principles first. Tight partnership with engineering. Low-cost alignment.
